Abstract:
The advance in genomic technologies has also created significant challenges in bioinformatics. One of the major challenges is the quality control of large scale genomic data. Here, we introduce a robust multi-perspective quality protocol for genomic data (sequencing and genotyping) which is essential for the success of a study. Additionally, we will describe novel strategies for data mining using high throughput sequencing and genotyping data. Finally, we will introduce a concept of Mendelian Randomization, a method of using measured variation in genes of known trait to examine the causal effect of a modifiable exposure on disease in non-experimental studies.
