On December 9, 2022, in order to allow new international students to adapt to campus life as soon as possible and strengthen communication with each other, the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology organized the "Understanding China"(读懂中国) educational activity for international students at the Party Member's House in the Second floor of Life Sciences Building #2. International Student Counselor Ilya A. Vinnikov and Li Fang, and many Chinese and foreign students participated in the event.

Li Fang first introduced many commonly used mobile phone software and its functions in daily life for international students, such as WeChat, Alipay, Taobao, Metro, Jiaowoban, Meituan, etc., to facilitate everyone's daily life in China.

Then, Li Fang emphasized the importance of "safety", such as preventing disclosure of one's private information, paying attention to phone scams, prohibiting religious activities on campus, anti-drug propaganda, etc. At the same time, combined with the current situation of the epidemic situation at home and abroad and changes in management policies, we remind everyone to pay attention to prevention and control, wear masks, and suggest that some commonly used medicines be kept on hand.

Afterwards, Ilya and Li Fang organized everyone to chat about life in China, to find out if you have any confusion and problems in life, the changes and use of old and new passport numbers raised by classmates, the joys in life, such as marriage customs in various countries, Tourism and other topics were discussed. The atmosphere was lively during the discussion.

This event not only provided students with an opportunity to learn about convenient and easy-to-use APPs in daily life and learn Chinese laws and regulations, but also strengthened the relationship between students and teachers and students, allowing international students to have a better understanding of Chinese and foreign cultures.
